Retained Searches need not be expensive. If your company is conducting one search or multiple searches and you have not considered a Retained Search, it may be time to reconsider. We firmly believe that once you examine our search procedure and compare it to proposals you have received from other Search Firms, you will find M. J. EGY & Associates to be the logical solution to your problem. Frequently Asked Questions about Retained Searches Q. Aren’t Retained Searches strictly for Executive Level positions? A. No, that is a misconception. Although many companies use Retained Searches to fill their Executive Levels or confidential replacement positions most companies don’t realize the benefits of a Retained Search for any salaried position. Retained Searches are one of the most productive and cost effective ways of conducting a search. Q. Aren’t Retained Searches too expensive to use for Engineer’s or Supervisory talent? A. No. On an average, the cost is about the same as a Contingency Search for any salary level position. Multiple positions can produce documentable savings for your organization. Q. Why do a Retainer, where is the savings? A. The savings is in your time involved in the search. On most Contingency Searches, you are probably using 2, 3, or maybe even 4 recruiters. Every recruiter is sending you résumé’s. You receive duplicates and now you have to track who came from where. You wade through the 30-40 resumes you have received and now you receive phone calls from each recruiter asking about their candidates. You set up phone interviews only to find out the person submitted is not interested in your position or location. You wonder if the sending recruiter even talked to the candidate before sending the resume. All this takes away from your day and cost you, and your managers, a lot of time. Time you can’t afford to waste. In the past few years, contingency searches have averaged 4-6 months to fill. The average time involved in a retained search is 6-10 weeks. Additional time is saved by working with one recruiter that fully understands your search assignment. Calls are scheduled to maximize your time and a “PROJECT PLAN” is developed around you and your manager’s availability. Q. I don’t like the idea of paying money up front. How does this work? A. M. J. EGY & Associates takes a unique approach to Retained Searches. We do not require any up front money. Unlike most search firms, we are prepared to put our reputation on the line. M. J. EGY & Associates offers a 30 day no risk search. If you are not completely satisfied with our results at the end of 30 days, FIRE US, and pay nothing. If you are happy, you will received an invoice for the amount of time spent on the search. Subsequent invoices are issued every 30 days. We don’t believe there is another Search Firm that has the confidence to put this in writing. Q. What about hidden cost? I know some retained firms charge a miscellaneous cost or have hidden fees. A. There are no hidden fees or costs with M. J. EGY & Associates. You are quoted a Minimum and a Maximum fee in advance of the search assignment. If the search can be completed in a shorter time period then expected, the minimum fee generally applies. M. J. EGY is happy to
discuss your company's staffing needs.
